Former Columbus police Officer Adam Coy, 44, was freed on Tuesday from the Franklin County jail where he was being held on charges, including murder, in the December shooting death of year-old Hill. Hill was shot as he emerged from a friend's garage holding a cellphone with his left hand and his right hand not visible. Coy was greeted outside jail by protesters chanting 'convict the killer cop'. A video posted by The Columbus Dispatch shows Coy wearing a black face covering and a baseball cap being escorted out of the jail while several protesters chant, 'Convict that killer cop. Coy was led away by bail bondsmen and placed into an awaiting pickup truck. He did not respond to reporters' questions.
