Feminine odour is something all women deal with. And while it's completely natural and normal for your vagina to have some kind of scent, certain vaginal smells can signal something's wrong. Here's how to tell whether the smell 'down there' is normal for you. That said, Morton reminds us that the odours are not meant to be unpleasant and if the vaginal discharge has a fishy or pungent smell there is nearly always something wrong. So, what happens to throw off your smell and turn it into something disagreeable?

Vaginal Discharge With Odor Causes, Signs and Treatments
Sharing pregnancy experiences and fears with your close ones could be de-stressing. But sometimes, there are things that you may be apprehensive of sharing even with your spouse. One such issue is vaginal odor during pregnancy. Odor or a foul smell from the vagina is usually unpleasant and embarrassing to talk about.

Vaginal discharge
Clear vaginal discharge is an often common and normal symptom from the female reproductive system. Clear stretchy discharge is a sign of ovulation, while clear watery vaginal discharge occurs between periods, sexual arousal, or pregnancy. Thick clear vaginal discharge can indicate something more serious like a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or menopause.

Vaginal odor may vary throughout your menstrual cycle and may be especially noticeable right after having sex. Normal sweating also can cause a vaginal odor. Though it may be tempting to douche or use a vaginal deodorant to decrease vaginal odor, these products may actually increase irritation and other vaginal symptoms. Bacterial vaginosis — an overgrowth of normally occurring vaginal bacteria — is the most common vaginal infection that causes a vaginal odor. Trichomoniasis — a sexually transmitted infection — also can lead to vaginal odor.
